The fine print, short.
Is Thraxel Grab really free?
Yes. No account, no fee, no watermark added by us. There are fair-use limits per connection so one person can't tie up the grabber for everyone else.
What quality do I get?
Whatever the platform serves, up to 4K. By default we pick the highest H.264 rung (usually 1080p) because it plays on every phone, TV and editor. YouTube's 1440p and 4K streams are AV1 or VP9; we still package them as an MP4, which plays in VLC, Chrome and recent devices.
Which links work?
Single public videos from YouTube (including Shorts), TikTok, Instagram Reels and posts, Facebook videos and Reels, Vimeo, X, Threads, Reddit, Twitch clips, Dailymotion, Streamable, Rumble, Loom, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Bluesky, plus direct .mp4 links. Private, age-restricted, members-only and live videos don't.
Do you keep my videos or links?
No. The MP4 is held on our server only long enough for you to save it and is deleted automatically 20 minutes after it's ready. We don't build a profile of what you grab.
Can I download anything with it?
Use it for videos you own or have permission to save: your own content, client footage, licensed material, public-domain clips. Respect each platform's terms and the creator's rights.
